Hello 7 Hills Faithful! We have been rocking the house all year with the help of everyone who reads in the open, sits and listens, features, and slams -we intend to keep on doing so until the earth stops spinning! For this month’s installment we have a real treat for you – this month our feature is Nora Meiners.
Nora Meiners started writing poems in 2011 after multiple decades of not writing poems. She began attending the Cantab in Cambridge MA at that time and discovered that apparently her heart has a secret knock and this was a room of poets who knew it. Since then, Nora has competed in the National Poetry Slam for the Boston Poetry Slam (2013) and the Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam (2014). Nora lives in Cambridge and is raising a seven-year-old son as a single mom. She spends her Wednesday nights hosting for the Boston Poetry Slam and her days working as the “missing pieces person for a jigsaw puzzle company.” Yes, that is the real job title.
This month is also your last chance to qualify for our Spring semi-final in April!
As always the Illustrious DJ Muse on the 1’s and 2’s spinning everything you ever loved, will love, and forgot you loved. Open mic list goes up at 7 and the show starts at 7:30. No cover but we do have a 5$ suggested donation (however, we turn no one away). 7 Hills and Sahara restaurant invite you to come early stay late, order delicious food and drinks, meet people, catch up with people you have already met and all sorts of stuff in between.
