July 11th – Kofi Dadzie and IWPS Qualifier Slam

Kofi Dadzie

Kofi Dadzie is an 18 year old Ghanaian slam poet from Westborough, Massachusetts by way of White Plains, NY. Dadzie has been competing in youth slams since 2013, and is currently a member of both the 2017 Brave New Voices Youth Poetry Slam Team (representing Mass LEAP) and the 2017 House Slam Adult National Team. In 2016, Kofi served on the 5th ranked national youth poetry slam team and served on the inaugural Youth Spoken Word Leadership program in Boston. Outside of poetry, Dadzie is a year-round track and field athlete for Westborough High School and hopes to continue at Umass Boston in the fall.

This month our slam will be the second qualifier for iWPS – 2 rounds of poems, up to 8 poets, cumulative scores. Top 4 qualify for the Finals in August for a chance to compete in Spokane in OctoberBring out yer best & slam it good =)

Open mic goes up at 7:30 and the show starts at 8.

$5 suggested donation (however we turn no one away). COME EARLY STAY LATE! Order food! Order drink (if of proper age with proper ID) meet people, catch up with people you have already met and EVERYTHING in between!
